On Juneteenth, Orange County Supervisor of Elections Announces New Polling Stations

Empowering Voters, Enhancing Access: A Milestone in Electoral Transparency and Innovation

Orange County, FL (June 19, 2024) – The Orange County Supervisor of Elections is pleased to announce two new early voting polling locations to better serve the voters of Orange County ahead of the 2024 primary and general election.

Eatonville, which in 1887 became the first town in the United States to be organized, governed, and incorporated by African American citizens, will open its Town Hall (307 E Kennedy Blvd, Eatonville, FL 32751) to serve as a polling location for early voting this year.

“We are very excited to be able to offer the opportunity to early vote in the historic town of Eatonville,” said LaVonda Wilder, President of the Eatonville Chamber of Commerce.

“Being an early voting site brings in the fact that you don’t have to find a ride to the polls, you can walk to the voting site,” said Eatonville Mayor Angie Gardner. “I am so honored that the town of Eatonville will be hosting an early voting site, this election season.”

Partnering with Lift Orlando, an additional early voting site will be located at the Heart of West Lakes Wellness Center (710 S. Tampa Ave. Orlando, FL 32805). This location will also serve as a Primary Voting Location for early voting from Monday, August 5, 2024, through Sunday, August 18, 2024. The same location will be used again for the General Election from Monday, October 21, 2024, through Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Lift Orlando President Eddy Moratin commented, “we are so grateful for the opportunity to become an early voting site - particularly in Orlando’s 32805 ZIP Code - as we strive to leverage every opportunity to amplify the voices of our neighbors and strengthen our democracy.”

“Lift Orlando’s mission is to strengthen neighborhoods so that people can thrive,” said Lift Orlando’s Vice President of Community Impact Mark Shamley. “Lift is proud to work with the office of the Supervisor of Elections.”

“We are delighted to partner with Eatonville and Lift Orlando to open these new locations to better serve the voters of Orlando and Orange County,” said Orange County Supervisor of Elections Glen Gilzean. “These locations will help to address the voting deserts that exist in our community.”
