Eligibility for voter registration in Florida

 

To register to vote, a person must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be a Florida resident.
  • Be 18 years old to vote. May pre-register at age 16.
  • Not currently adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state
  • Not have been convicted of a felony in Florida, or any other state, without your civil rights having been restored.

Provide your current and valid Florida driver's license number or Florida identification card number. If you do not have a current and valid Florida driver's license or Florida identification card, you must provide the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you are registering to vote by mail and have never voted in Florida and haven’t been issued a Florida Driver’s License, identification card or Social Security number, you must indicate so when filling out your application by writing NONE in the space provided.  You will be required to provide additional identification before voting the first time.  Follow the instructions on the registration application form.
